01 - What do i need to rent a car?
If you are an individual, all you need is an id or passport, be over 21 years of age, a valid driver`s licence in Brazil for more than 2(two) years and a credit card
In case of companies, it is necessary that it has been established for no less than one year, present the required documentation in order to have its registration approved through our analysis and to be confirmed in up to 2 business days It is also necessary to designate a driver.
02 - Can I designate another driver for the vehicle I am renting?
Yes. As long as he yeas 21 or older with a valid 2 year minimum driver`s lincence and provides a copy of his id, driver`s license along with his address in the time of contract.
03 - Can I rent a car with a "Personal Driver" ?
Yes. as long as requested previously the vehicle can be rented with a personal driver and are subject to employee`s fees.
04 - Can I choose the brand or model?
Yes, but reservation will be conditioned to avaliability of the chosen model, since we operate by groups of vehicles and not models. However, we will do our best to attend our customer`s preferences.
05 - Can I pick up or deliver the car when not on business hours?
Yes, as long as previously agreed with our operators in time of contract and subject to pick up/delivery fees.
06 - Can I pick up or deliver the car in my hotel, work or home?
Yes, but subject to fees that apply only for regions ouside Lagoa da Conceicao area.
07 - Can I pick up or deliver the car at the airpot? Posso apanhar e devolver o veículo no Aeroporto?
Yes, subject to pick up/deliver fees based on time and duration of rental. Can be isented.
08 - Do I have do return the carn with a full tank?
No.You must return the vehicle in the same conditions you piked up, but four your confort, Sunset rents you with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with a lower gas level, the difference will be charged based on our own table, calculated through the gas dial in a division of eight parts. Some variation can occur depending on gas sation used.
09 - How are daily rates on vehicle rental based?Como são apropriadas as diárias do veículo locado ?
The daily rate is 24 (twenty-four) hours long with 1(one) hour tolerance. After that, 1/5 of the rate and hedging tax will be charged in up to 5 hours. After the 5th hour another full daily rate will be charged.
10 - What is Pre-autorization?
It is the customer`s temporary credit card blocking on a pre-determined ammount, to guarantee reservation and antecipation on the rental`s partial payment. This amount will be deducted form credit card's limit at vehicle's pick up, not generating recovery and will be automatically refunded upon vehicle return and rental payment.
12 - How much do I need to have in my crdit card in order to be pre-autorized and offered as guarantee?
· GROUP A/B/C R$ 1.000,00
· GROUP D R$ 1.500,00
· GROUP E R$ 2.200,00
13 - What is Risk Protection?
It is a protection (subject to fees)we offer for our vehicles and third-parties, aiming for more economy, safety, confort and tranquility to our customers in case of accidents or total loss of vehicle
Risk Protection is not an Insurance, but an optional protection we offer, that frees our customers of any charges in case of accidents or total loss of the vehicle, according to contract once contracted.
14 - What kind of insurance is offered by Sunset Rent a Car?
A - Standard Protection
Protection for vehicle only. Our rates already include
this partial insurance covering collision, theft, burglary, fire, accidents or total loss of the vehicle, with franchise required participation according to rental contract in addition to loss of profit costs and third-party damages or injuries.
B - Premium Protection with franchise.
Protection for vehicle in case of damages, theft, burglary, fire, collision or total loss, as well as for personal injuries caused to third-party (excluding moral damage), in conditions expicited on the rental contract. It also frees our customer of charges related to loss of profit, assuming his rquired franchise in specified value and beeing covered for third-party ijuries in accordance to established limits.
15 - What are the costs I am responsible for in case of collision or total loss of vehicle?
According to the Protection choice - Standard or Premium, the customer is entitled to all expenses related to vec=hicle damage or substitution from total loss up to the established limits on the franchise ammount and the respective loss of profit expenses as well as the specified amount for third-party damage or injuries.
16 - Do I get risk protection for windows, tires, sound system and acessories?
No. These kind of damges are not covered by any kind of Insurance and all expenses related to those are entitled to the customer.
17 - Do I get Coverage in case of accidents involving third-party?
Yes, as long as you have chosen the Premium Insurance with the established value during contract. It is required to fill our accident report, present the police report (BO) and fulfill the Brazilian Transit Code.
18 - How should I proceed in case of accident, theft or vehicle breakdown?
In case of accident, burglary or theft look for police officers/station in order to fill the Police Report, immediately inform us and procceed to Sunset Rent a Car in order to fill our report as well. Keys and car registration must be returned to Sunset Rent a Car,
In case of vehicle breakdown, immeditely inform us, so we can take all necessary measures for repair and substitution considering that the breakdown is a result of regular wearing.
19 - What is Loss of Profit?
It is the monetary damage suffered by the company in case of accident, breakdown or loss of the vehicle when we cease our profit on that particular vehicle for having to stay in repair, waiting for the Insurance company or Police Department`s release or its substitution in case of total loss.
20 - Is it required to present the Police report?
Yes. In any case of colision, accidents, burglary, theft or fire it is required that the customer fills our accident report as well as the respective Police Report (BO). Without these the customer will be nevertheless entitled to all costs related to the damage of the vehicle or its substitution up to its actual cost (according to FIPE Indicator), as well the third-party damage costs.
21 - Am I responsible for paying traffic/parking tickets in case of traffic violation?
Yes. All traffic and parking tickets are customer or assigned driver`s responsability to pay. According to the Brazilian Transit Code, in case of notifications or infraction the customer will be present to Police Department as responsible for them, We then will pay directly the amount and later charging the customer through credit card or refund.
22 - How Should I proceed in case of transit notifications or infractions?
In this case, the ticket will be issued directly to the vehicle`s driver by the transit officer. The customer should present it to Sunset Rent a Car, so necessary providences can be arranged.
